Where does the starter air bleed system come from?

Lubrication system

Start air reservoir

Bleed air system

The starter air bleed system gets its supply from the engine’s bleed air system. When starting, clean, high‑pressure air is taken from the compressor via bleed ports and routed through the start air path to drive the pneumatic starter. This air is conditioned (filtered, cooled/dried, and regulated) before it reaches the starter device. It’s not sourced from the lubrication system or the fuel line. Some installations may use a start air reservoir to store air, but the actual origin of the air is the bleed air system.
